The “Competitiveness 2021-2027” Program is a comprehensive intervention targeting the productive, competitive, and extroverted sectors of the economy in their transition to a developmental model guided by the Knowledge Economy. It largely reflects the developmental priorities of the country while aligning with the new priorities of the European Commission.

The Program serves as the implementation tool for the National Smart Specialization Strategy (RIS3), linking research and innovation with entrepreneurship and strengthening national and regional advantages.

In the long term In the long term, the Program aims to increase the size of Greek businesses and strengthen their export-oriented focus, positioning them as key drivers of growth for the Greek economy. Overall, the “Competitiveness 2021-2027” Program, with a financial allocation of approximately €3.9 billion in Public Expenditure , of which €3.1 billion comes from EU resources from the ERDF and ESF+ Funds, sets priorities for strengthening the productive capacity of the economy and the related human skills.
