With the resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan "Greece 2.0," the Public Employment Service (DYPA) implements innovative employment and training programs.
The Active Employment Policies (AEP) include programs and measures aimed at developing and improving professional skills and promoting employment. To date, the AEP take the following forms:
1. Professional training programs for the unemployed and employees.
2. Apprenticeship programs.
3.Wage or non-wage cost subsidy programs or social security contribution subsidies, referred to as New Job Creation Programs (NJC).
4. Job Retention Programs.
5. Subsities Programs for New Freelancers (NFP).
6. Programs for gaining work experience or pre-employment internships.
Community service programs or special employment programs in public sector organizations.
7. Local or sectoral employment programs.
8. Programs for strengthening administrative processes to enhance the operational capacity of organizations and businesses, or Structural Adjustment Programs.
9. Programs for strengthening administrative processes to enhance the operational capacity of organizations and businesses, or Structural Adjustment Programs.
10. Integrated Programs (a combination of the above).
The above programs are categorized into closed framework programs (i.e., programs with a finite duration and a limited number of beneficiaries) and open framework programs (i.e., programs permanently available to businesses and the unemployed). They also target specific social groups in the labor market that share common age or other characteristics.
Specifically, the New Entrepreneurship Program (NEE) focuses on supporting new businesses established by unemployed individuals registered with DYPA and possessing an Individual Action Plan. The subsidy lasts for 12 months, and the financial aid for new businesses amounts to €14,800, distributed in three installments.
